This is cosmetic guidance, not medical advice
Colya Beauty analyses cosmetic products and matches them against the profile you provide. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, and it is not a substitute for a consultation with a dermatologist, pharmacist or physician.
If a skin problem is painful, spreading, bleeding, or simply not improving, see a health professional. No recommendation engine can examine your skin.
What the recommendations are actually based on
Being precise about this matters more than a generic warning:
- Product information comes from merchant catalogues. We do not test products, and we do not verify merchants' claims in a laboratory.
- Full ingredient lists (INCI) are not available for the catalogue. Where a field looks like an ingredient list, it is usually the merchant's marketing description. Analyses are therefore based on what merchants state, which can be incomplete or wrong.
- Part of the analysis is written by an AI model from that same data. It can be mistaken, and it can be out of date if a manufacturer reformulates a product.
Always read the ingredient list on the actual packaging before using a product. It is the only authoritative source.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
If you indicate that you are pregnant or breastfeeding, the engine applies a hard exclusion rule: no product identified as containing a retinoid is recommended to you, whatever its category.
Two limits you should know:
- That detection relies on the product name and the merchant's description. A retinoid that is never named cannot be detected.
- Retinoids are not the only ingredient to discuss during pregnancy.
This filter reduces an obvious risk. It does not make a routine safe for pregnancy. Ask your doctor, midwife or pharmacist.
Allergies and intolerances
The allergies you enter are used to exclude products where we can detect the substance. Since full ingredient lists are missing for most of the catalogue, this exclusion cannot be complete.
Whatever the site suggests: check the packaging, and patch-test a new product on a small area before applying it more widely.
Children
The service is not intended for children, and no recommendation is calibrated for them.
In short
Use these recommendations as a starting point for your own judgement — and, when in doubt, as something to bring to a professional. Not as a prescription.
