The short version
This site sets one cookie. It remembers the language you chose. There is no advertising cookie, no analytics cookie, and therefore no consent banner — because there is nothing to consent to.
What is actually stored on your device
| Name | Type | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
beauty_locale |
Cookie, strictly necessary | Remembers whether you read the site in French or English | 1 year |
beauty_ai_token |
Browser local storage (not a cookie) | Keeps you signed in | Until you sign out or clear your browser data |
beauty_ai_token is not a cookie: it is never sent automatically with requests,
it stays on your device, and it is removed when you sign out. We list it anyway,
because from your point of view it is data stored in your browser.
Why there is no consent banner
Under the ePrivacy rules, consent is required for cookies that are not strictly necessary — advertising, analytics, profiling. This site sets none of them:
- no Google Analytics, Plausible, Matomo or any other measurement tool;
- no advertising or social network pixel;
- no session recording or heatmap.
A banner asking you to accept cookies that do not exist would be theatre, not compliance.
Third-party cookies when you leave
When you click through to a merchant, you land on their website. That merchant and the affiliate network (Awin or Ascend) may set their own cookies to attribute the visit. Those cookies are set on their domains, under their policies — not ours. Closing the merchant page or clearing your browser data removes them.
Managing what is stored
- The language cookie: change it by using the language switcher, or clear it through your browser settings.
- Your sign-in token: sign out, or clear your browser's site data.
- Everything: your browser's privacy settings let you block or delete
storage per site. Blocking
beauty_localewill simply make the site fall back to English on each visit.
If this changes
If analytics or advertising are ever added, this page will be updated and a proper consent mechanism will be put in place beforehand. The absence of a banner today is a statement of fact, not an oversight.
